CYBERPUNK X STAR WARS INSPIRED CHARACTER

DESCRIPTION

The entire inspiration of his look came from Cyberpunk and Star Wars character designs. His modern clothes were dull to contrast the bright light around him. His left eye and arm are made of metal with a bit of glow to match both universes’ signature of using metallic body parts as part of a character.

PROCESS
  • ​Base model was created in Autodesk Maya.

  • Lots of details were added all throughout the body.

  • Polo was created from a duplicated body mesh.

  • Details were added from the polo mesh.

  • Teeth, tongue, gums, and eyes were created.

  • Wireframe topography was modified.

  • Current meshes were smoothed to get a high poly result.

  • Modified wireframe details all throughout the meshes.

  • UV Map was unwrapped.

  • The entire UV Map was textured with Adobe Photoshop.

  • Details were added on the base textures for better look.

  • Joints were added for rigging.

  • Curve controllers were added and constraint it to different joints.

  • Modified all skinning details of the entire body to match their joints and look nice for animation.

  • Duplicated the body mesh and created different emotions for blend shapes.

  • Driven keys were set to adjust player’s facial movements.

  • Switched the inputs for skin and blend shapes for it to work.

  • Few modifications were made for skinning details.

  • Hair details for beard, eyebrows, and eyelashes were added.

  • The hair was connected to the model’s facial structure to match all of its movement.

  • Added mesh lights on the left eye and arm for rendering purpose.

  • After making the lightsaber, render poses were made.

  • Character and lightsaber were animated and rendered with a sequence renderer in Autodesk Maya.
